"And we're back... with some Look Past the Stars."
Erika takes this track-time to talk about people that are very interesting. Carlos' questions lead to another subject and something interesting about cars, the mind and Jambi.
"Because your story sucked!"
Carlos and Erika finish their brief research on the subject of Jambi. Carlos continues with his exciting story of cars and the mind which then turns into a discussion cut short by an abrupt realization. No one's feelings were hurt, nor was there any eating of "trudges and flesh."
"Recording... get used to not cussing... I'll try."
Carlos tries to get Erika into the habit of not using bad language but finds himself speaking in the very same language he is trying to correct. Erika pretends to listen... "Guess who's back?"
"You were not part of the script."
Erika and Carlos continue to share stories about their weekend but it turns into a couple of friends squawking at eachother; fighting to be heard. There is a lot of interrupting and more pretend-listening by Erika. The happenings are not as fun as her remarks on everyday routine but it leads the whole Jambi thing. "I don't know... strippers."
"I guess..."
Carlos makes Erika listen to "Third Eye" and "Stinkfist." I think she was mumbling something about... "Shhhh."
"I don't think so."
This is Carlos and his two-cents on the election. It was on the way to Diamond Bar that he heard the newscast that sparked this track.
"KDRO!"
The road trip to Diamond Bar - "An Introduction."
"I'm on my way."
The truth behind the trip to Diamond Bar is revealed. A brief weather report is given. It is not official. I think Carlos was just looking for another excuse to rant on family and the distances we travel everyday. "We'll be back."
"It sucks gas."
Still on the road, Carlos takes some time to share one of his favorite parts of live music by Tool. He says it makes him "bring it." He doesn't waste time in doing so. It's just one more comment on today's weather and traveling.
"Reporting live from my car."
This track is a continuation of the ever popular Oil Rant. It's actually about an attempt to correct an issue Carlos has with recycling oil. The story is still without end but explanations of proper behavior are said. It takes a lot to change.
"...distractions and noises."
A small walk takes place. The point of travel from A to B is filled with conversation of why one means of travel can be better than another means of travel.
"Maybe after I get the car wash."
Carlos still can't manage to recycle his used oil but he sure does like to rant.
Almost There
This track is nothing more than an explanation of what happened when Carlos finally arrived to auto store with what he thought was a perfect set of containers. The lids were shut tight, there was no mess to be made and he was even going to dump the oil himself. Well, at least the containers are sitting safe in his backyard. (As opposed to previous containers that would spill and over fill in the rain.)
"A little bit of indie."
A guest is introduced but not found. It's just an intro but... "the subject matter changes." Carlos takes the intro and shreds it into what's happening today... he does so in the next track.
"He's got The Smiths... on tape."
A conversation is sparked between KD VIP Manuel Carillo and Carlos Amador conserning music of today and his yesteryear. The tracks off of Smiths cassette are read. Laughter filles the breaks in conversation.
"He works the whole thing."
Carlos describes his experience at the Look Past the Stars show. He drives the conversation into what's become a KD staple in conversation, thought and action. "Punk!"
"Absolutley, 'I Want to be Sedated..."
KDRO was on the hunt for more feedback on the whole Punk thing. The Jammerz bass players shares his view while Carlos tries to explain how both genres are rebels of their time. The Jammerz, their sheet music and a Burlesque show are what's become of KD's Sunday nights. They all take place at the Anarchy Library. He played on a 6-string bass that particular Sunday night.
"Punk back then...I like that."
Heather Ballentine, the beautiful young musician gives her take on Punk music. She tells of her influences and the importance of melody in today's pop-music. "Those boys in their suits... They're Punk!"
